St. Nicholas’ New Evangelization offers a Religious Education program for youth in grades 1 through 11.

The Church teaches that the primary teachers of children are the child’s parents. The Parish is given the task of assisting parents in teaching the faith to their children. The mission of the New Evangelization Team, including the volunteer catechists, is to assist the parents in teaching about our Catholic faith and passing this faith on to the children who attend the programs and activities offered. As part of the parish RE program, your child will experience ways to know, love, and serve our Lord and the Church within the 30 hours they attend.

Elementary - Grades 1-5

The Elementary Program for our children takes place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm-6:45pm. The 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month will be a home based program. Due to the change in start time, busing will not be available for the elementary children this year. For more information about our program click this link RE registration letter to families 2022-23.

Our religious education program for grade one students is a time for young children to learn more about Jesus and the Catholic Faith and begin preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion, which is typically received in 2nd grade.

For our Grade 2 students, in addition to the work done in the classroom and at home, families (child and at least one parent) will gather once a month for a family faith sharing experience.  During these monthly gatherings we will spend some time learning more about Jesus and our beautiful Catholic faith.

Above the Clouds
November is the month dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. The religious ed families created luminaries with the names of some of their deceased loved ones on them. The luminaries were lit Wednesday evening and they had prayer time followed by cookies and hot chocolate!

Your family can pray any time for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. They need our prayers as they are unable to pray for themselves.
